Fiji, a country in the South Pacific, is an archipelago of more than 300 islands. It's famed for rugged landscapes, palm-lined beaches and coral reefs with clear lagoons. Its major islands, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, contain most of the population. Viti Levu is home to the capital, Suva, a port city with British colonial architecture. Viti Levu
Viti Levu is the largest of the islands comprising the South Pacific nation of Fiji. Home to the capital city of Suva, as well as the majority of Fiji's residents, it's also the site of Fiji's primary airport, which is near Nadi on the western side of the island. Viti Levu's interior is dominated by mountains, including Mt. Tomanivi, an extinct volcano.
On Viti Levu's southwestern coast, Kula Eco Park is a wildlife preserve that's near the town of Sigatoka, and home to endangered crested iguanas. Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park, which encompasses high sand dunes, is known for hiking and bird-watching. Denarau Island, just west of Nadi, consists of a resort complex built on reclaimed mudflats. The Upper Navua Gorge, in the island's mountainous interior, is a canyon that's used for rafting. On the southeastern shore, the Fiji Museum in Suva has archaeological relics that date back more than 3,500 years.
Denarau Island
Denarau Island is a small private island in the Republic of the Fiji Island, west of the main island of Viti Levu. The 2.55 km² island is attached to the mainland via a short causeway and is located 5 km north west of the town Nadi and 10 km west of Nadi International Airport. Denarau is known for its hotels and resorts fringing the island with the 18-hole Denarau Golf course as its centrepiece. The resort island includes international chains such as Hilton, Sheraton, Radisson, Westin, Sofitel and Worldmark. Denarau Marina is located on the island and provides sea transfer services to the island chains of the Mamanucas and the Yasawas. Port Denarau, as well as containing Denarau Marina, is a shopping precinct with a variety of restaurants, a supermarket, bakery, hairdressers and tour operators.

Yasawa
Yasawa, also called Assawa and Ysava, is the main island of the Yasawa Group, an archipelago in Fiji's Western Division. Located at 17.00° South and 177.23° East, it covers an area of 32 square kilometres. It has a maximum altitude of 244 metres above sea level. The population was 1,120 in 1983. The islands are served by the Yasawa Island Airport.

Nadi
Nadi is a city on Fiji's main island. The South Pacific country's main transportation hub, it's also home to Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami, a Hindu temple reflecting Fiji's large Indian population. The Garden of the Sleeping Giant has orchids and hiking trails. Denarau Island is an upscale resort area with a golf course and marina, with departures to the Mamanuca and Yasawa islands.
Suva
Suva is the capital of the South Pacific island nation of Fiji. It's a city of broad avenues, lush parks and grand British colonial buildings such as the Suva City Library. Suva's colorful, lively Municipal Market offers a vast range of local fruit and vegetables. Fiji Museum, set within the Victorian-era Thurston Gardens, contains traditional canoes, war clubs and tattooing tools.
